Upcoming exhibition

Last week we stopped off on our journey to Nelson to see the Te Horo Kilns – Celebrating the legacy of Mirek Smíšek and creating future inspiration.

We certainly were inspired. The whole area is aesthetically pleasing with its adjacent bush walk and view across the plain and renovated train station building – now used to house the artists residence.

Thomas Baker is the current artist in residence We knew him from Nelson’s Hot Clay shop and the Nelson Clay week 2024.

We’ll be interested in seeing his exhibition in the Toi MAHARA Gallery. This new building is wonderful and currently holds several works of Frances Hodgkins one we hadn’t seen before.
